How Long Does It Take to Read a Book
totally depends on the book
I am pretty quick, on my days off I tin read a book or two in an 8 hour window.
I find information technology difficult to concentrate for very long periods of time. Too, I similar stopping every and so oft to think about what I but read, the concluding scene.
I need to *make* myself practice that more often, Ingemar. Thanks for reminding me.
I don't know why, just I timed how long it took me to read one folio in a book, and on average information technology'south 2 minutes... I'm a relatively slow reader, so this would take me about 10 hours...
For me it would be about four.5 hours if I wanted to actually get through information technology fast. Not that I'd recall much , a calendar week or 2 later but 5.5 if I wanted to savor it and enjoy it more than and at least call back something!
it would take me 2 weeks
2 weeks or more if i don´t have much time
I can't read nonstop...but I do read for long periods of time...I finished the host reading it for several hours over 2 days and that is similar...yeah.

I can't read non-stop either, but judging from the pace I read from page to page, information technology would probably take around ten to 12 hours.

Not voting - information technology depends on the book and the language.
message 13: by Petra (new)
I'm xiii then I do read a little slower and information technology actually depends on the book simply if its a good ane I'g interested in, iv hours.

Definitely over 12 hours.... yeah I'one thousand a wearisome reader... each hunger games book took me most 3 days with a full of probably five-6 hours each day.
over 12 hours .. considering English isn't my native language and and it totally depends on the book and how mush gratis time i have and lately i don't have mush .. schoolhouse and piece of work .. then yep it sucks .
over 12 hours .. because English language isn't my native language and and it totally depends on the book and how mush free time i have and lately i don't have mush .. school and piece of work .. and so yes it sucks .
definitely iii-6 hours. unless the book doesnt hook me in and I'll but bring it around and force myself to stop it

Despite my vote, I would say that it really depends on what I am reading...
Totally depends on the book, but an average of a folio a minute for me, so 3-6 hours.
The times I've done it, 1-iii hours. Books that don't pull me in like that would probably have longer.
Well-nigh books, probably almost half dozen-vii hours. If information technology'south written James Patterson style, more than like iv.

If it'south about a book I really similar, and then I want to enjoy it but I also read it nonstop. I would probably stop information technology in eight-9 hours.

6 hours or so. But it really depends on the book. If the volume is not as absorbing my mind may wonder for a scrap even though I haven't put the volume down.
definitely depends on the book.
Only bad thing is that I don't read nonstop:/

Non the quickest. But information technology really depends on the volume. Some are only easier to read others more interesting than some.

Depends on the book and the language.
message 28: past [deleted user] (new)
If it has great descriptions I may want to read them over and over to savor them and that takes longer.
bulletin 29: by Lowri (new)
I suppose it would accept me less time if I didn't become distracted past other tech like my phone ... If I didn't take school I would sit down outside reading until information technology was dark ... Then I'd come in and read!
it depends on the volume

I totally concur with the others, it depends on the book.

And the language. [native or not]
I'g a fast reader so if I read a 300-page book nonstop, it volition probably accept me around 4 hours or so to finish.
I also concord with others that it depends on the books. Some books are like shooting fish in a barrel and low-cal to read; 150-page chick-lits usually take me around 2 hours. Other books require more than attention; reading The Hunger Games book took me one whole afternoon, the classics require a whole day, Dan Chocolate-brown-mode books require more. Yous get the thought.
Sometimes, if I dearest the volume so much, I read them slowly to relish each scene. The Harry Potter books took me a week or two each. Record goes to the HP and the Social club of the Phoenix: I finished it in ane month. LOL

It really depends on the book
It really depends on the book… Some of them we bonfire through considering they're so exciting, some of them we take our time because they are so skillful.
And of class, setting makes a difference too… When we have peace and quiet, anything goes.
Great Poll!

This totally does depend on the volume; if it's Dickens, it'll take much longer than a eye class novel.
and if its Shakespeare, your have to go to a lexicon a lot.

Information technology actually depends on the book - some authors are easier to read than others....
three-4 hours roughly. I only know this considering I use to take one of those bookmarks that had a built-in timer.

Are you kidding? I started to read the Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare and finished it in the midnight. I'chiliad not awesome, I was but got insomnia.

That's definitely me. I find myself getting a little restless subsequently a short while of reading. I too like to terminate and think nigh what I accept read.
3-6 hours, like most of the voters ;-)

information technology actually depends on the language too. if the volume was written in bahasa indonesia, i need similar 3 hours or eveb less. simply for the english language one, it takes me longer than that. but yeah probably iii-6hours. :-)

Yes. Yes it does.

Today I read two 300 page books in a total of 5 hours. But they were really skilful! I couldn't put them down

If I take a book that is over 370 pages long then information technology would accept me that long. But 460 pages would take me atleast 14 hours directly

Erin wrote: "If I have a book that is over 370 pages long so it would take me that long. But 460 pages would take me atleast 14 hours directly"
Hhaha. That's sorta funny.
half-dozen-9 hours if I could read non stop but then over again, unless I decide not to sleep, it is very difficult to read not end and non exist disturbed.
An average book of 300 pages takes me 1-2 days because unfortunately, I seldom can read non stop :-(
If it was Goose egg but reading, I would guess about three hours. However, every half hour to hour I demand to take a break from the book or else I'll just get antsy and become all too aware of other things I need to be doing. Too, the type of book may change my reply.
I read slower than average audio book readers read out loud.
