How to watch Wizards vs. Hawks

Wizards

Washington is off to its best start through six games in 16 years.

At 5-1, Bradley Beal's new surrounding cast have immediately gelled to create an unselfish offense and more disciplined defense. After an impressive 116-107 victory over the Celtics on Wednesday, the Wizards followed that up with another impressive 11-point win against the Hawks before winning a thrilling double overtime game against Boston on Saturday night.

Washington travels down to Atlanta, who, like the Wizards, began the 2021-22 season with a 3-1 record, but have dropped two straight. Last time out the Sixers battered them on an off shooting night, so they'll be hungry to turn things around back home against Washington.

The two teams met three times last season, with the Hawks leaving victorious in all three matchups. With the Wizards winning the first meeting already, can first-year head coach Wes Unseld Jr. improve to 6-1?

Here's everything you need to know.

WIZARDS vs. HAWKS: WHAT TO WATCH

The game-sealing play in Washington's 115-112 double overtime victory over Boston on Saturday night was emblematic of the reason for the team's best start since 2005. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope stripped Jaylen Brown's 3-point field goal attempt and ran out the clock to put an exclamation point on a mistake-ridden end of the game from Unseld's group.

Bradley Beal notched a season-high 36 points to lead the Wizards on the other end. It was a welcomed sign for Wizards fans to see Beal find his groove offensively after a slow start to the season, which has been a league-wide trend. Along with the league's star guards like Damian Lillard and Monday night's opponent Trae Young, Beal had seen his scoring averages take a dip amidst the new emphasis on officiating this season. Young has struggled for his standards during Altanta's two-game slump and will look to get back on track against Spencer Dinwiddie and Co.
